Our Campaigns

Campaigns are organized around issues identified by BCAC's Board of Directors.

When an issue becomes pressing and the need for concerted action is clear, BCAC organizes or joins a campaign.  BCAC embraces a campaign as the result of research, valuable discoveries, and the Board’s recognition of the compelling need to act.

Parents, community leaders, communities of faith and service providers are mobilized to join together to take action in a campaign.  They speak out on behalf of children at community meetings, news conferences, and public hearings.  And they reach out to elected representatives.

During campaigns BCAC undertakes extensive community, media and legislative outreach.  BCAC participants give speeches, attend public hearings, and take part in community meetings.

Our intention in a campaign is to increase public awareness, community mobilization, and support to create a vast and vibrant network of concerned and active individuals.

Current campaigns include:  "Leave No City Behind," committed to equalizing the vast inequity in state education funding, and "Healthcare4every1” (Health Care for Everyone), with the goal of quality affordable healthcare for every Connecticut resident.

BCAC encourages volunteers to participate in these worthwhile and crucial campaigns.   Between sluggish economic times and the high cost of everything, children and families need your help more than ever.  Contact BCAC and add your voice to one of our campaigns.  You can make a difference
