Get on Board for BCAC Task Force!
Come to the first meeting of one of the new Task Forces:
- New Task Force on family economic empowerment, including basic needs/affordable housing/workforce and career training/literacy/GED/ESL, Thursday, Sept. 18
- New Task Force on education and early care, including issues of preschool/childcare/K-12 education/school violence, Thursday, Sept. 25
- New Task Force on children’s health, Monday, Oct. 6
All meetings are from 5:15 to 7:00 pm, at the Burroughs Community Center. Light supper will be provided. Childcare and transportation are available if needed.

What Is a Task Force?
Task Forces are active, working collaboratives. Task Force members are parents, community leaders, clergy, service providers and government representatives. Task Forces range in size from 25 to 40 members. More than 350 people are actively involved with BCAC Task Forces each year.
What Does a Task Force Do?
Members of each Task Force gather and share information. Task Force members identify emerging and critical issues. The work of each Task Force involves:
- research and data-gathering
- community planning
- community education
- advocacy
- community mobilization
